The Basics

Don't panic because of incorrect facts and rumours that are floating around.

Below are some common facts about COVID-19:

COVID-19 is an infectious condition, which means it can be spread directly from one person to another. The virus is not airborne. An infected person can spread the infection to a healthy person through eye, nose or mouth contact via droplets produced on coughing or sneezing. It is not passed through food. It has high infectivity and low mortality.

Eating eggs and chicken doesn't cause coronavirus. The novel coronavirus is not spread directly through poultry products.

People affected by coronavirus can recover and be treated.

All It Takes To Defeat Coronavirus

Follow basic hygiene.

Protect your loved ones– don't cough or sneeze into your hands, use a tissue instead and dispose it immediately after use.

Protect your community- If you feel unwell, seek medical attention and practice social distancing.
