InstaVR: December Updates

Panoramic Cubemaps Supported

Advanced users can now turn their Panoramic Cubemaps into easy-to-distribute apps using InstaVR. We support high-end cubemap resolutions, including 18K Gear VR Resolution (18K x 1.5K) and 48K Resolution (48K x 4K). This includes cubemaps created using Autodesk, VRay, OctaneRender, Lumion, and more. As with normal panoramas, cubemap VR  can be packaged in InstaVR into iOS, Android, Gear VR, Google Cardboard, and desktop/mobile web experiences.

Autodesk Compatibility

InstaVR was proud to attend and exhibit at Autodesk University in Las Vegas, November 15 -17. We announced there our new compatibility with Rendering in Autodesk A360, joining our existing support for Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max. iOS Packaging Improvements

We've introduced a new look and feel for packaging to the iTunes Store. The process has been streamlined, and now includes an Online Validation Tool. We've also added a prompt to improve and clarify the Certification process that you must use before packaging a publishable iOS app.

Updated Heat Map Capabilities

For our data-driven InstaVR users, we have two new important Heat Map capabilities: 1. You can now select a specified date range for the overlay to pull data from and 2. You can now export to CSV a grid with the heat map data. The heat map overlay can be accessed at the bottom of the page in the Authoring section.

Packaging Infrastructure Improved

In the past few weeks, we've made a significant financial investment in hardware that will increase the speed of packaging customer apps, as well as improve stability. Our customers, particularly those using InstaVR Pro, are uploading more and longer 360-degree MP4s. Our capital investments should help to better facilitate app creation with these larger files.
